With temperatures reaching nearly 100 degrees (even Cast Members commented that it was hotter than usual on this June weekend) we decided to make Hollywood Studios a half-day park. After spending the morning at Typhoon Lagoon, we arrived at the park at 2:30pm.
Note: This park visit was before the new Disney Genie+ System had the capacity to pre-booking Lighting Lanes before a guest’s visit. Purchasing the system and booking three choices in advance should allow for guests who opt for the service to do many of the attractions in a day while prioritizing those that are most important.

Dining- Woody’s Roundup Rodeo

Walt Disney World Resorts and parks are known for doing well at accommodating allergies and special diet requests. As ovo-lacto vegetarians, we can easily navigate most restaurant’s menus to find alternates to the meat-based courses. Woody’s Roundup Rodeo is “family style” dining, with large portions for the entire table to share and the option to request more of individual parts of the meal.
We arrived at the outdoor waiting area and checked in on the MDE app. Our reservation was at a non-standard mealtime (4:50pm) so we didn’t wait long, but when we left after 6pm the waiting area was full of families. Children are given the option to ride toy horses to their tables.

Nearly all the salads and sides were plant-based without much altering, except for the biscuits, mac and cheese and corn. Vegan versions of the cheddar biscuits were available on request. When it comes to the main course, the menu offers standard barbeque fare (ribs, chicken, brisket) or “Trixie’s Plant Based Trio” of roasted cauliflower, and plant-based “sausage” and “rib chops.”
Compared to the size of the meal, desserts were served on the smaller side in small glasses or as mini cupcakes.

After Park Hours

We were able to book an Oga’s Cantina reservation for up to an hour after closing time. (Even guests who were exiting Fantasmic at 9:40pm were able to make a reservation in time.) The biggest benefit was being able to walk around Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at night with no other guests to photograph the park.
