Disney’s Art of Animation Resort

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort offers a wide range of options for families with a budget, and is worth a visit even for those guests not staying at the resort. In 2023, with an extra couple of hours during a conference near Epcot I hopped over to Art of Animation on the skyline near the World Showcase entrance. We returned in the winter of 2024 for a family stay in a Finding Nemo Suite.

The “Disney Bubble

The Skyliner is a series of three lines that intersect at the Caribbean Beach Resort. From this transfer station it is a 10-ish minute ride to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, or Art of Animation/Pop Century resorts. Lines are generally short (with the exception of park opening and closing times) and groups of less than six are generally combined with other parties. While the cars aren’t air conditioned, I’ve always found them comfortable with a breeze circulating.

Resort (but not pool) Hopping
The “Disney Bubble” is a term that is used to describe the feeling of immersion that comes with staying at a Walt Disney World Resort and not leaving the property. I always find it hard to return to the real world after any length of time with Disney’s exceptional customer service and adults wearing mouse ears. It would take months to fully explore all that the four theme parks, twenty+ resorts, two water parks, and other entertainment venues have to offer. While resort pools are restricted to only guests staying at that property, the grounds of most resorts are open to other guests.

Art of Animation Resort

Art of Animation Resort is one of the most popular for families with young children. The one-room Little Mermaid rooms are an affordable option for many families, while the two-room Cars, Lion King, and Nemo themed suites provide more space for larger groups. For kids that are fans of any (or all) of these movies, a visit to the resort is a worthwhile adventure no matter where they are staying.

The Animation Hall is also worth a stop; the quick service dining, Ink & Paint Gift Shop, and colorfully decorated lobby and gift shop are a 10-minute walk from the Skyliner.

The Finding Nemo Section of the resort is a central location, close to the Skyliner and check-in, shopping and dining.
