Animal Kingdom Lodge- Rooms & Activities
Animal Kingdom Lodge is the resort that our family could visit for a week, never leave, and never get bored. With two sections, Animal Kingdom Lodge and the Disney Vacation Club’s Kidani Village, guests have access to two pools and multiple onsite family activities.
Disney has taken great care to represent the cultures of Africa, with art found throughout the resort. Cultural ambassadors were onsite during our visits (prior to 2020) to greet guests and provide educational and recreational activities for families.

Dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge
Animal Kingdom Lodge offers multiple table service options, all with African and Asian inspired dishes. Sanaa in Kidani Village ranks as one of our favorite dining options on property, with their famous bread service and views of the savanna. For signature dining, Jiko is found at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Boma is a great way to sample African dishes, with a buffet for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food court is found at Animal Kingdom Lodge, but if you are staying at Kidani Village, Sanaa often offers a quick service breakfast option and lunch and a quick lunch or dinner can be ordered from the Maji pool bar.

The Savanna
The highlight feature of Animal Kingdom Lodge is the savanna that stretches across the property. Opt for a room with a view and you can watch wildebeests, giraffes, zebras and over 20 other different animals from your balcony. Staff feed the animals throughout the day, so your view is never the same. At night, we found that that many of the animals, especially the zebras, were especially active, while some of the same animals returned to rest each night in the same locations. Even without a Savanna View room, observation areas are found both inside and outside the resort hotels.
