Know Before You Go: The Boardwalk Inn at Walt Disney World

Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Walt Disney World Resort, Florida, 2026

With rooms ranging from standard kings with pull-down sleepers to deluxe villas, The Boardwalk Inn has options for many party sizes and stay types. Like most other Walt Disney World resorts, the split-style bathroom is convenient for families. With just three people, we also like the option to book a king room with a convertible couch.

We prefer booking the Deluxe resorts if we plan to spend more time in the room, favoring the brighter and more open designs over those in the moderate hotels. However, the extra cost sometimes feels lost if we plan to spend the bulk of our time in the parks.

The small Boardwalk-themed details set this resort apart from others.

The mid-19th century east coast boardwalk theme carried throughout the resort and was classy but fun, with lots of subtle details.

Epcot park-goers will find the convenient location the greatest benefit.

The Boardwalk Inn is the perfect resort to allow for time in Epcot combined with resort relaxation. we arrived early in the day, left our luggage at the resort, then returned to swim and get ready to return to Epcot during the cooler evening hours. The resorts are also centrally located on Walt Disney World Property, providing multiple options for travel to Hollywood Studios and a relatively short bus ride to other parks.

Park access for Hollywood Studios- Boat and Skyliner, or a 10-15-minute walk
Park access for EPCOT- 5-minute walk
Park access for Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Waterparks & Disney Springs– Bus

Resort dining options are limited at the resort, but the Boardwalk is just steps away.

With only a one-night stay we weren’t looking for a ton of activities at the resort, and guests staying for longer periods of time who want a lot of dining and recreation options may find it too small. While not inside the resort itself, the restaurants of the Boardwalk are all less than a 5-minute walk and offer everything from more upscale options (including The Cake Bake Shop® Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers- reservations go fast at this new addition to the Boardwalk area and should be booked as soon as the window before your trip opens) to quick service sandwiches and salads from the Boardwalk Deli.

A quick less than 10-minute walk across the lagoon adds even more options at the Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts. Beaches and Cream, located by the pool at the Yacht Club, is a great option for families with young children. One consideration: because it is small it can also be a bit difficult to get reservations, especially for larger parties.

The small resort favors relaxation over recreation.

Guests who want to find a spot to sit and relax will have no trouble finding respite from a busy day in the parks.

The Boardwalk Inn also gives families spaces to play, especially around the carnival-themed pool and waterslide. Cast members offer poolside entertainment and games, so guests wanting a quieter experience may prefer the smaller garden pools in the courtyard.
