Fun with Food and Flowers at the 2026 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival

Each spring EPCOT is transformed into a colorful land of Disney-themed gardens, topiaries and mosaicultures. The flowers combined with the themed dining kiosks and comfortable spring temperatures make it is arguably the best time to visit the park.
For our spring 2026 trip we had just one day and night at Walt Disney World Resort. With our focus on EPCOT we booked a night at the Boardwalk Resort for the easy 10-minute walk to and from the World Showcase entrance to the park.
World Showcase

Gardens Tour- England & Canada
We started our tour of the gardens in the England and Canada section of World Showcase. Some of our favorite themed areas were here, including Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and The Muppets.
With more time we would have joined the Twinings Tea Gardens tour, one of the Festival’s special offerings. The My Disney Experience App listed times for these special programs in addition to EPCOT’s regularly scheduled activities and entertainment.

Topiary Tours- The Princess Stories of World Showcase
Like character meet and greets in World Showcase, most of the Topiaries are a match to the countries of the fictional characters that became well-known Disney Princesses (and their sidekicks).

World Showcase Themed Gardens
Much of the Mexico Pavilion consists of a dark indoor space that is not quite conducive to growing plants. Thankfully there is a lush outdoor area, although it may be easy to miss if you don’t exit out the right side of the Pavilion.

World Showcase Food & Drinks
Like other EPCOT festivals, the dining kiosks in World Showcase feature dishes inspired by the featured country and/or region. While some options may be traditional foods they often have playful adaptations, like the Frushi (fruit sushi) in the Japan Pavilion.
World Celebration & World Nature

Most dining areas in World Celebration and World Nature are grouped near or around the lakefront. The gardens near Imagination Plaza and The Land continue to also provide great options for “light vacation education” with designs for pet-friendly plantings and a large pollinator presence at the Butterfly Pavilion.

Food & Drinks around World Nature
As we exited World Showcase and walked toward World Nature there was a cluster of food kiosks, each themed with similar ingredients (seafood, honey, etc.). For families with young children this was a great place to stop, with picnic tables and a play area.
World Celebration & World Discovery
The Odyssey, previously a central festival shopping area, is now another great spot for indoor seating to enjoy snacks and drinks. Some fun newer themed gardens and topiaries are also located around these plazas, including characters from Monsters, Inc.
Visiting Attractions & Utilizing Lighting Lane
During our early March trip we expected a high visitation day at the start of Spring Break season and the opening weekend for the Festival. EPCOT has three main attractions that really require Lighting Lane and only one can be chosen in advance.
We scanned into our first ride, Spaceship Earth, at 11am and opened the My Disney Experience App to select a new ride. We know that to ride all three of the most popular rides using Lighting Lane we would have had to arrive early in the day to use our first selection, then hope to add either Frozen Ever After or Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure for a time later in the day. So we weren’t surprised that they were all “unavailable” for the rest of the day.
Even without riding everything we were still able to justify the cost of the Lightning Lane by the short wait for Test Track (the line stayed at 90 minutes+ for standby the entire day) and the flexibility of cutting 15-30 minutes off of wait times for all of the rides at the peak midday hours.

And no visit to EPCOT is complete without some time in the weird underwater world of The Seas. We are always happily surprised to find some new residents, and on this trip it was the leafy seadragon, an animal that groups with others to form what looks like a mass of seaweed.
