What’s New at Magic Kingdom in Fall 2025 : The Beak and Barrel Edition

Attraction Closures: Tom Sawyer’s Island and Liberty Square Riverboat

Tom Sawyer’s Island and the Liberty Riverboat have closed to start construction of Piston Peak National Park from Pixar’s Cars franchise. The renovation was more visible to the public in late 2025 compared many other construction projects, and the drained river around Tom Sawyer’s Island was only partially partitioned off. We could clearly see the tracks that the Liberty Riverboat took on the tour and most of the buildings on Tom Sawyer’s Island were still standing. Big Thunder Mountain was also closed, expected to reopen sometime in 2026.

The Beak and Barrel in Adventureland is Open!

The Beak and Barrel is a new Pirates of the Caribbean themed bar just outside the ride’s gift shop. Reservations are required and sell out quickly as soon as they open (60 days before the first day of the trip for anyone staying at a Walt Disney World Resort). We hadn’t reserved a spot but checked in with the Cast Member during our park day. They shared with us that sometimes reservations do open for late in the evening, especially for smaller parties, and to refresh our My Disney Experience App often. Around 6pm we were able to snag a 9pm seating for that evening for three guests.

There is a very strict 2-drink maximum per person and guests are limited to a 45-minute stay. The experience is similar to Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studio’s Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, but had even more of “speakeasy” vibe because you actually can’t drink in most of Magic Kingdom without a dining reservation. We were seated at a small table, while other parties were sitting at the bar or standing at a high-top table.

Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Parade is now running.

During our visit the Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Parade was offered at 8pm, just before the Happily Ever After fireworks and projection show and at the 10pm park closing. Guests were getting parade/fireworks viewing spots as early as 6:30pm, meaning that to enjoy the best seats for both the Parade and the 9:15pm Happily Ever After show involved reserving up to 3 hours of the park day.

As repeat park guests, we chose to instead have dinner just before the parade at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant, then enjoy some shorter ride times in Tomorrowland while everyone was gathered around Cinderella’s Castle. We’ve watched the fireworks from different rides around the parks over the years, and this was our first time seeing them from the People Mover. After our Beak and Barrel reservation we easily found spots for the 10pm Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away Parade at the ending point in Frontierland. There were some great newer films featured, including Coco and Encanto, but the parade had fewer costumed characters with each float compared to the daytime and special event parades.
