Sure, you could wait in line for two hours for a 2-minute ride on 7 Dwarfs Mine Train. Or, you can explore three classic attractions in that time. An easy walk between Frontierland and Liberty Square gets you to the raft to Tom Sawyer Island, the Liberty Bell Steamboat Cruise, and the Country Bear Jamboree.
Country Bear Jamboree
On your way between the Liberty Belle and Tom Sawyer Island, stop to catch the next Country Bear Jamboree performance. The animatronic show was designed by Walt Disney, and it provides sixteen minutes of respite from the heat and walking. I personally identify the most with Trixie St. Clair, the bear who sings while sipping wine and is clad in only a tutu.

Tom Sawyer Island
It is not necessary to know the source material to enjoy Tom Sawyer Island. A cast member pilots a log raft to the island, where you have plenty of routes to choose from for your adventure. Watch Big Thunder Mountain trains go by from the fort, venture deep into the cave, and walk over suspension and crooked bridges. Carve out an hour on your schedule to really experience all the island has to offer.

Liberty Square Riverboat
The Liberty Belle is a reproduction of a Mississippi River steamboat. Alex spent some time nerding out and watching the steam engine in action. The multiple floor vessel has both interior and exterior seating, so it’s a great place to sit and relax for the seventeen minute loop around Tom Sawyer Island.

Dining
When we are hanging out in Frontierland, our go-to quick service is Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe.
To continue your Old Time Magic Kingdom themed day with a table service meal, the Diamond Horseshoe (open seasonally) and Liberty Tree Tavern are nostalgic nods to American history.

Let me help plan your trip to Walt Disney World, Florida
01
Choose a Resort
Staying on Walt Disney World property helps you be immersed in the Disney magic for your entire vacation. From affordable campsites and value options to deluxe villas, there are options for every budget.
If Magic Kingdom is top of your list, consider a stay at one of the Monorail resorts (Contemporary, Polynesian, & Grand Floridian) or the Wilderness Lodge.
02
Get My disney Experience
The key to a fun and well-planned Disney Vacation is getting well acquainted with the My Disney Experience App. Order food, check wait times, search for the nearest restroom, book dining reservations, and so much more.
03
Pick Your Parks
With four theme parks and two water parks, you’ll have no trouble finding something to interest all members of your family.
Magic Kingdom offers the most classic Disney Attractions, as well as reimagined rides and shows. My advice is always to take advantage of the “off the beaten path” experiences too, like those highlighted in this blog.
04
Dine at Disney
Dining at Disney comes in all forms, from Mickey-shaped snacks to quick service meals to fine dining in Signature Restaurants.
