Loews Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios Florida

During our stays in 2019 and 2023, Loews Royal Pacific was in the Premier category of Universal Orlando Resorts. There were three resorts in this tier, and the biggest benefit (aside from being walking distance to CityWalk and all three Universal Orlando Parks) is that each stay included Express Pass each day of our stay, including check-in and check-out days. Additionally, like at all Universal Orlando Resorts, we could charge to our room and enter one park early each day to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

In our experience, checking in at a Premier Universal Orlando Resort has always taken a long time because our key card was also our access to the Express Pass lanes. On the second morning of our 2023 trip, we packed up at our Aventura Resort and walked to Loews Royal Pacific at 8am to find a long queue as guests were trying to check in before heading to the parks. The process took 30 minutes total, and although our room was ready, we chose to save time by checking our bags with Bell Services. The walk to CityWalk along the canal was less than 10 minutes, so were were still at Islands of Adventure and in Hogsmeade before the official park opening for non-resort guests at 9am.

Our stays at Royal Pacific were in both late spring and late summer, so thunderstorms rolled in often. Each time we appreciated being able to watch the weather until the last minute to walk back and wait out the storms in our small but cozy and brightly decorated room.

Lounges & Dining

All visitors to the Universal Orlando Resorts (including guests not staying on the property) were able to dine at the restaurants, and anyone staying at a Prime Value or higher tier resort was able to use the pools at other resorts. In 2019 during a girls trip weekend, we stayed at Cabana Bay Beach Resort and walked to Royal Pacific for dinner at Islands Dining Room.

During our most recent stay, we had snacks and coffee from the Tuk Tun Market (the fresh baked Hawaiian bread pretzels were a specialty IMO appropriate for any meal of the day) and a post-parks glass of wine from the Orchid Lounge.

Pool & recreation

The sprawling pool area wasn’t overly crowded on any of our visits, despite the heat. Drinks and food were available sitting at the Bula Bar & Grille, or by ordering from the lounge chairs. Families could play on a sandy beach pool, a large boat-themed splash pad, or play water volleyball.
